Barolo

This Barolo, from Massari di San Grato, comes from the hills just outside the town of Barolo in Piedmont, Northern Italy – an area known for its very special climate and soil. The vineyard sits at about 260 meters altitude, and beneath the ground lie old layers of limestone and clay, perfect for the Nebbiolo grape. This gives a wine with both structure and elegance. The aroma offers flowers, red berries and a small hint of leather and licorice. The taste is fresh, with distinct tannins and a mineral edge that makes it really exciting. It's a wine that can be drunk now or kept for a few years if you're patient. Available both by the glass and by the bottle.
